Nike China BMX Blazer X Michael Lau

Posted by: Staff on June 30th 2008

With this years Summers Olympic games introducing BMX as a new competition sport, its only fitting that Hong Kong artist and toy designer Michale Lau came to design another installment with Nike.  This time the canvass takes form with the Nike Blazer High and is designed with the Chinese colors of Red and Yellow.  The playful shoe incorporates a Sun design along the heels and when combined together makes a semi-circle Sun with flares on the sides.  Also noting the release and this years Olympics, the numbers 20/08 are added to the heels.  To complete the special shoe, a new box was designed as well as two vinyl toys.  The special box resembles the dirt from the BMX courses and it also looks like it functions as a snap-on lid.  The two vinly toys include a BMX biker wearing the Blazers, and his sidekick dog which has the Handlebar for his head and who is also wearing the Nike Blazers.  No news yet on this special release, but believe us…we’ll be ontop of this release fosho!

Air Jordan 7 Miró - Olympic Collection

Posted by: Staff on June 30th 2008

Its not very often that new designs of the signature Air Jordan’s are followed with such an intricate inspiration.  For the case of the Air Jordan 7 Miro edition, there is a bit more of a story to tell.  The original assumption that these Air Jordan 7 were inspired by the Olympics is only half true.  In fact the various colors and patterns on the Air Jordan 7 are inspired by famous Spanish painter and sculptor Joan Miró, whose life ended just a few months prior to Jordan and the Dream Team winning the Gold in ‘92.  That Summer the Olympics were held in Barcelona, Spain - which was Miró’s hometown.

These Air Jordan 7 Miró Olympics will also be released at the special opening of Opiums new location in Barcelona.  Presented to a select few invitees, these shoes will be the main attraction to the opening which will start at approximately 7:30 PM.  Here are some shots of the Miró edition Air Jordan 7 with the last picture showcasing the shoes next to one of Joan Miró most famous sculpted paintings, the “Woman and Bird”

Posted by: Staff on June 30th 2008

To round out the two previously super hot Nike Blazers from DQM is the final colorway in this collection, Lavendar & Black.  The colors in each of these pairs all seem to coincide with each other by using similar hues of the same colors across the entire collection.  Definitely limited, and definitely gonna turn some heads, especially with the safari printed texture on each of them.  This final isntallment of the Lavender / Black will be relesed only at Daves Quality Meat on July 12th.

Posted by: Staff on June 30th 2008

If you thought you were done spending money on J’s this year think again.  Tapping into your pockets may continue for the rest of the year as Jordan Brand continues to bring on the heat for their limited Collezione Countdown Packs.  For their Air Jordan 3/ Air Jordan 20 pack the Air Jordan III will come in its OG Black / Cement colorway!  For those that arent familiar with the Collezione Countdown Packs, its a campaign launched by Jordan Brand for one if its last hurrahs for the signature Jordan line.  Pairing each signature shoe by its signature number to make the sum of 23.

These Air Jordan III’s are considered to be the Holy Grails for many collectors.  And seeing the success and hype on the other OG colorways that release this year, namely the Carmine 6’s these are definitely going to cause some havoc at your local Nike Retailer.

Nike Free Hybrid Boot

Posted by: Staff on June 30th 2008

Nike has always been able to do a good job in hiding its innovative technologies behind the designs of their shoes.  With the new Nike Free Hybrid Boot as no exception.  Choosing a fine leather to cover the entire upper of the shoe starts off the design.  Added details of a red color tone for the lace locks and tongue seams - as well as the aligned red dots across the heel of the shoe which bring some familiarity from the “Considered” campaign.  And if you pay attention to the toe box, you will see a pattern of a basket weave faded into the leather.  Unfortunately these are only going to be released in the Asian Nike Retailers this Fall, September 2008.

Lebron II Player Exclusives Re-Release

Posted by: Staff on June 29th 2008

There have been some rumors about a re-release of the Zoom Lebron II in the Player Exclusive colorways.  Lebron fans are definitely gonna be glad to hear this good news but there is a catch… Rumors have it that only 36 Pairs will be release per colorway!  With this extremely limited release, its definitely going to be hard to get your hands on these soon to be classics.  Two of the colorways will be from Lebrons Highschool St. Vincent-St. Mary, one in the Home color and one in the Away.  The third being the Grey / Lime Dunkman Hardwood Classic.  But remember, this is just some buzz brewing in the some popular sneaker forums - but that doesnt me we cant keep our fingers crossed.

Bape Socksta

Posted by: Staff on June 29th 2008

Japanese brand Bape has been steadily adding new products to their popular streatwear brand.  With some newer additions like their Tracksta and Bapesta Slip-Ons, these new Socksta look like something that supposed to be worn around the water.  With a mesh material on the top making it easier for the foot to breathe, it also has a rubber sole which will provide support and protection.  We’re guessing it’s a water sock and will function the best in some type of water sport.  Definitely a good look and a great sign of things to come.  Streetwear is no longer limiting itself to just selvage jeans and hoodies, all consumer goods are now fair game.  These new Sockstas are available now in four different colorways.
