Sneakers over the past year have been released around a central theme.  Sometimes its the colorway of a popular sports team, others based around pop art and even some on 80’s entertainment phenomenons, all these themes share a common similarity - the above mentioned themes are all commonly known thus consumers can easily relate.  Puma and Atmos have worked on a new collection of Puma Clyde’s inspired by the endangered species of the Arctic and Antarctic.  Though it may be harder to find a common relation to this topic and may certainly be less commonly known, its definitely worthy of our attention.  A series of Puma Clyde’s have been designed to represent three different animals that are facing the threat of extinction, the Marconi Penguin, the Polar Bear, and the Harp Seal Clyde.  Each of the shoes has been artistically executed to represent each animal.  See if you can figure out which shoe goes with which animal.  To be released this June on the 28th exclusively at Atmos NYC.  The price tags will range from $125.00 to $150.00

Recently New Balance showcased their NB MT580 model overseas in Taipei.  The exhibition of shoes included a full collection of their popular MT580 Model, which included some from the Mita Collection as well as four different version that have not been shown.  Among these are the Luis Vuitton inspired Brown Colorway and the Victorinox inspired Red Colorway.  Many of MT580 will be release during this Fall in September while the others are available now.

A few weeks back we showed you a special pair of New York Knicks Air Jordan Spizikes worn by Spike Lee himself. Designed to represent the New York Knicks the Spizikes gathered alot of buzz. Sneakerheads were wondering if this was a sample shoe or if it would make it out into to production line, although we have no confirmations of a release, we do have another version of the New York Knick Spizikes that was once again spotted on famed director Spike Lee. Color inspirations still from the New York Knicks, execution a little different, this time using black as the base color and keeping the New York Knicks colors as accents. Nike has always led the sneaker industry with their constant business model of being innovative. The first innovation that comes to mind is the Nike Air Pocket - which was designed to add more cushion and ankle support for athletes. Later down the line, Nike further investigated the cushion support by showcasing their patented Shox technology. It is no surprise that Nike has come out with yet another innovation, the Flywire Technology. Designed to give better further added support around the sides of the shoe, the Flywire technology utilizes a strong fibered material that in integrated into the shoe to provide a Flex like ankle support. Spike Lee made an announcement yesterday at Cannes for a new full feature documentary on Michael Jordan the greatest ball player of all time. Hoping to have it ready by next years Cannes festival, the documentary will feature unseen footage of NBA cameras during Michaels last two season, 2001-02 and 2002-03. Mike and Spike both have a bit of history together, besides the new Air Jordan Spizikes , they previously hooked up in the 90’s to film a series of Air Jordan commercials which quickly became a classic. Its definitely going to be an interesting thing to see a documentary at a full feature length from the creative mind of Spike dissecting the Living Legend.

.With the recent release of the Puma First Round Lottery Pack with NoMas, the classic Puma sneaker has started to pick up some new found hype.  This time around theyre giving the First Rounds a softer feel with a bright colored, fuzzy pack known as the “Teddy Bear” pack.  Like all true teddies, they usually end of with a few lose stitchings and some new ones to keep the seams in tact.  Not only is it important to keep your teddy from falling apart at the seams, but theres nothing better than having a teddy that is super soft.  Puma has added these two details to the tongue, heel and sides of the shoes.  The soft fuzzy material can be found as a liner and on the tongue, and the stitchings run along the heel and the laces.  Available at Puma retailers very soon.  Via SF

Here’s a few new shots of the new Hare Jordans which will release with the Air Jordan 7 and the Air Jordan 16 Countdown Pack on June 21st.  Worn by Kanye’s muscle “Barry” the shoes definitely look promising.  Keep that calendar marked and those lawn chairs ready, these definitely look like they’re gonna fly off the shelves.

We finally have a much clearer shot of Kanye West’s sneaker from Nike, the Air Yeezy.  There have now been a total of four colorways already for the unreleased Air Yeezy but the ones shown here is what Kanye suits up in for his Nationwide Glow in the Dark concert which a few of us were lucky enough to attend in Los Angeles last month.  To keep true to the name of the tour, the soles of the Air Yeezy (which is taken from the Air Jordan 3’s) glow in the dark - as well as the Nike Swoosh along the side.  Although more images are surfacing on the web about the Air Yeezy’s, there is still no definite day of a release.  Stay tuned for more info soon.  Via ShoeGame
