Product(RED) is a foundation created by famous U2 front man Bono and Bobby Shriver (the chairman of the DATA Organization - who’s mission is to eradicate the AIDS and Poverty that plagues Africa) in hopes of bringing awareness and funds to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa. The foundation works with the worlds most iconic brands by creating products and distributing portions of the sales to the African people. The parentheses used in “(RED)” signifies embrace which you may have seen with popular products such as the Apple (iPod)RED. Thus each new product created would be titled PRODUCT(RED). Another way the foundation works is by networking with celebrities who have the star power and can generate more buzz and awareness to the foundation. Lupe Fiasco and Converse have gotten together to bring us a new Converse Chuck Taylor High which will be supporting this foundation. No news on a exact release date but well be sure to keep you posted.
